How Mentoring Can Help
Depending on your goals, mentoring can help you to:
- clarify your priorities and next steps
- develop confidence in professional situations
- identify strengths and areas for development
- improve communication and interpersonal skills
- explore career progression or career-change options
- make informed decisions about your professional development
- work through challenges and identify practical solutions
- gain a fresh and independent perspective
- set realistic goals and remain accountable for achieving them
Our role is not to tell you what to do. Instead, we draw on professional experience, questioning, guidance and constructive feedback to help you make decisions that are right for you.

Career and Professional Mentoring
Career and professional mentoring can be particularly valuable when you are facing change or considering your next step.
We can support you with areas such as career progression, developing professional confidence, identifying development opportunities, preparing for increased responsibility and considering alternative career pathways.
Where appropriate, mentoring can also complement career coaching, training or professional development.
Business Mentoring
Starting or developing a business can involve making many decisions without always having someone impartial to discuss them with.
KBC business mentoring provides a structured opportunity to explore areas such as:
- business priorities
- services and pricing
- target customers
- marketing and visibility
- developing new income streams
- managing workload and priorities
- identifying realistic next actions
The focus is on practical progress rather than simply discussing ideas.

Our mentoring programme normally includes regular one-hour sessions.
For clients who want ongoing support, we recommend a programme of six sessions, allowing time to establish goals, review progress and build momentum.
Sessions can be scheduled at intervals that suit your circumstances and objectives.
